Institute is the focus, and rightly so. There is no way the church provides a satisfactory college experience for the majority of LDS kids, nor do I think they desire to. The are putting significant focus and resources to insure institutes around the country provide that spiritual and social experience necessary.

BYU's mission now is not to educate and mingle the masses.
