I'm sure the B12 reps have seen it all when it comes to negotiating in the world
of college football.

I'm sure to probably get some ignores with this post...

If someone made that kind of impression on them, it was significant enough to stick out among all the other schools that the Big 12 has worked with, whatever it was. Let that sink in for a moment.

There are those who would try and claim that it had something to do with culture or religion. I call bull on that... unless it was the BYU official who made some offhand remark about the culture in the Big 12.

BYU, and it's students and officials, are generally arrogant and high-and-mighty types. They think they're standing up for their religion and being "true to the faith" when all they're really doing is coming off as jerks to people who come from different cultures/religions/backgrounds. They have a pretty bloated view of themselves.

Did Jamaal talking about people staring at him all the time not mean anything?

The reality is that independence is perfect for BYU. Their best bet is to win games and get inclusion the ND way. They were "benevolent dictators" in a way with the MWC teams, and now they're showing their true colors in these negotiations with other conferences. Hey, maybe all it is for BYU is that they have a bunch of LDS things they expect a conference to fall in line with if they join it, and these other conferences just think that's asking too much (high maintenance)... If that's the case, then no problem! As I stated, independence is perfect for a school like BYU.
