This will go over like a turd in the CB punch bowl, but it was weird how many
on CB chose to ignore or refute all the fairly well placed chatter and anecdotal stuff about our brief flirt w/ B12. Or emphasize the lack of hard evidence. A few months later, the same stuff w Beast/AAC stuff. More pronounced and specific quotes and anti-BYU sentiment were from Cent. FL or So. FL or one of those, and the usual SDSU stuff. Complaining the deal was done but for signing, then BYU pulled out.

I wanna learn from this stuff and know where we went wrong. I totally get it. How it came about. I would've been the same way, to a degree. After the Mtn. debacle, BYU was burned and sensitive about getting verbal guarantees and promises in writing and approved legal team.
"Burn me once, shame on you, burn me twice, uhhh, burn me twice, We won't get burned again." I do that sometimes too, when I can't remember a quote, I'll just roll w/ some Zeppelin or Hetfield lyrics, w/ a confident face.

They over-corrected it seems. Theres a way to be more cautious, w/o ticking off several members of B12, and later BE/AAC. This is more than "bigots being bigots" and def. a BYU issue. Chalking it all up to anti-mormon hatred is dooming us to repeat the same mistake, and has never been helpful fixing real issues w/ any organization. By denying it was ever mishandled or at the very least, could've been handled better. It'll be interesting to see if we ever get that second chance. I saw it as very precarious at the time and Indy a very temp. fix. I know, "I told you so" guy sucks. Many guys on here did though, and the "it's about exposure" rang pretty hollow.
