We've got a great brand going/growing (especially academically) and even places like SVU have popped up to meet a regional vacuum in demand. The church has a VERY LARGE budget and I can't think of any expenditures that have a greater ROI than getting good LDS kids to and educated at and graduated from church-run schools. Church statistics show that graduating from a church-run school is THE NUMBER ONE predictor of life-long activity in the church ... higher than serving a mission or getting married in the temple or being a seminary or Institute graduate.
So why not start more BYUs?!?!?
