a nation that's as corrupt as it gets. Wouldn't surprise me at all if they were just trying to save a little face in order to sway worldwide public opinion.

Being prosecuted in Zimbabwe isn't a hard thing. There were a lot of white farmers who were prosecuted for refusing to give up title to their farms simply because the government demanded it. Much of the times these farms and other property were simply taken at gunpoint.
