My kids' schools have started having check-o-thons 1-2 times a years and I love them. The PTO administers them very efficiently. They still offer cheap, dumb prizes, but they bring in a ton of money and all I have to do is write a check to the PTO. No door to door selling, no overpriced goods just a 95%+ efficient fundraiser that parents love.
