BYU MBA v. Top 10 Programs
I could have gone top 10. I chose BYU for the same reason I (as a BYU homer) always hope for top LDS athletes to choose BYU. I figured if I do make something of myself I would much rather build the BYU brand than build the brand of some school for which I have no affinity other than their ranking.

A top 10 MBA makes getting that first prestigious job much easier for sure. But BYU does place a lot of professionals into very prestigious jobs. I had three offers from companies that any top 10 person would have wanted (1 Investment Banking, 1 Private Equity, 1 Treasury at a Fortune 100 company). I took the i-banking job and worked alongside people who were from top 10 programs. My ROI was significantly better than theirs given the cost of their programs. But you have to work harder both to get the offer and prove yourself once you arrive. But I'll never regret my BYU MBA.

All of this said, if I were him I'd get a Michigan MBA and play for Harbaugh for the last year. That's not what I want him to do as a BYU homer. But if he could get a scholarship for a Michigan MBA and could play for Harbaugh (given Rudock will be gone) then that is likely the right decision for him. I'd rather have him selfishly. I love the kid. But for his sake that would probably be the best decision he could make if he wants to keep playing...which I think he should. He'll win the Heisman with a Michigan O-line.
