Heaps wasn't the first 5* bust...
And his total body of work, not just at BYU indicates he was way overrated.

At the College level who had had more success? Jake (5*), Tanner (4*), or Taysom(3*)?

Now Tanner's body of work is nowhere near complete, but does anyone expect him to have a fall like Heaps? Heaps never garnered the respect of his teammates, did not work hard and acted like a primadona (along with overbearing parents) and then his productivity went into the toilet. Heaps peaked his Freshman year but never even came close to his potential.

Tanner has gotten better each week (sans Michigan), he has become the unquestioned team leader. He has made the loss of the greatest athlete in BYU history hurt a lot less.

Taysom's injury riddled body of work was pretty awesome as well. Sad we did not see what he could have done this season..

I guess the difference in the three was that Doman coached Jake, and Anae and Beck have been coaching Tanner and Taysom.

The recruiting sites are there for a reason, but they don't get it right all the time. 4 and 5 star recruits don't pan out all the time. And despite every measurable imaginable, high draft choices don't have great NFL careers on occasion.
