I don't think it's the welfare state. Men tend to live up or down to society's expectations
of them. If you give a man duties to fulfill, and a wife and kids to work for (who will show gratitude to him for what he does), he'll work hard. But if you tell men that, at best, they're unnecessary, and at worst, they're the reason for all evil in this world, then a lot of them are going to check out.

For every story like the one OP posted, there are 25 stories about how there aren't enough women in STEM fields or in C-suites. What's the takeaway message to men?
