I don't agree at all. I don't blame society for men not stepping up.
I blame men. Where is the accountability for men? For centuries the history books, governments, and cultures have put men on a pedestal and treated them as though superior to women. Yet as soon as you give women equal opportunities they bust open the door and out perform and out work men.

So now it is society's fault that men aren't performing?? Women were treated as second class citizens and it hasn't stopped them from stepping up.

Sorry, but the blame society thing sounds like victim speech to me. Society is begging for men to step up and they just don't care enough to do it. They would rather play video games and look at porn, while women are pursuing education and careers.

I just don't see a rash of research and articles stating that men are unnecessary. If anything I see the opposite articles showing the plight of children without father's and the devastating effect that it is having on generations of children, especially boys. I see the articles stating that men have less and less interest in getting married and pursing education and having careers. No one is acting like that is a good thing.

Society didn't tell them to shrink, men are choosing to do that on there own.
