I agree with everything you said, but none of that is because society is telling
men that they aren't important. Sure cultural and societal changes have made it easy for men to abandon their social responsibilities, but they aren't leaving because they are told they aren't important. It is because they don't want to step up if they don't have to. I just don't agree with the idea that it is because men don't think they are important anymore. It is simply that they don't want the responsibility.
