Do all of you who are "certain" Tanner should replace Taysom really think you knows more than the current staff at BYU?
First let me say that I probably, based in my limited knowledge of football (and I've coached at the high school level), would have sat Taysom at half time of the UCLA game.

But then I listened to the coaches and they said that the offensive woes were much more widespread than just the QB. I then went back and watched game film from a coaches point of view rather than a spectator and began to understand. Now TV camera views are not coaches camera views so it's difficult to see the whole field.

But let me elaborate further on this point even being at the game we as fans watch the game from our own very myopic point of view. We almost always watch the game based on where the ball is going. And we focus on the guy who has the ball only. We do not focus on the blockers. We do not focus on what the wide receivers are doing. And the reason we do this is because watching play like a coach does is not fun. A a coach I was often required to focus one particular aspect of the side I was watching. First instance I was required to often watch the offensive line and see if they did what they were supposed to do. And when I did this I did not see much of the outcome of the play. Maybe others can do both but I was unable to do so with any effectiveness.

I digress.

Do all of you who think you know that Tanner would be better really think all of the things that you keep bringing up, have not been thought about or discussed by this staff?

Do you realize that our offensive line still is not that great? The Boise D got constant pressure on Taysom and there were lots of times where Taysom was running for his life.

Do you realize that this receiving corps Is underperforming almost every game? Kurtz had sure big gainer and possible TD hit him in stride and right where he should have made an easy catch. Trinnaman dropped at least two very easy passes. Guys are still running wrong routes when option routes are called.

Do you realize that this is the first year of a new coaching staff trying to install a new offensive system with players that were recruited for a completely different system. There are glaring holes in personnel.

And are you considering all if these things as you declare with certainty that Tanner will be better than Taysom?

What worries me is that some of people who are starting to grumble about these coaches were the most vocal critics of Bronco and his staff.

Just as I was a big fan and supporter of Bronco Mendenhall, b in an even bigger supporter of Kalani, Ty, Tuiaki and Lamb.

BYU has lost 4 games by a total of 8 points to 4 teams with a combined 23-5 record. And of these 4 loses, BYU has had a legit bchance to win 3 of them.

Despite the Big 12 crap and 4 loses I'm really excited about BYU's future. I think Kalani is the right guy to lead us in independence.
