Many seem to be trying to use the evidence of one head scratching decision
with the fake punt, to now call in to question whatever decision they feel they don't agree with that the coaches make.

"See, the coaches made a bad decision with the fake punt, so what about all of their other decisions? From what I see Taysom is not playing well, and I think the season is over, so let's start Tanner!" (This is obviously a paraphrase and not a direct quote, but captures a lot of the general tone of posts I have seen.)

Sorry guys, but just because the coaches made a wrong call on the fake punt, doesn't mean they are wrong about the QB situation. I would love to see Tanner get some time, however I don't think you bench Taysom to do it, and I don't feel like the season is already over. Tanner will get time when the coaches feel like it is in the best interest of the team for him to get that time. Whether that is the next game or next year, I will be excited to see him play. Meanwhile, I am excited to watch the team and hope everyone can continue to improve, including coaches, Taysom, and the rest of the offense.

I may be considered a Taysom apologist for not wanting him benched at this point, however I feel like the Anti-Taysom Detmerites (my response to the Taysom apologist term) need to realize that the coaches understand better than whatever expert opinions they may have on the matter about the meaning of the rest of the season, who should get time at QB, etc. This is true despite a head scratching fake punt call, and they want to win these games even more than any of the fans. The fake punt call doesn't mean every decision from here on out deserves or needs to be questioned.
