I do not think that people who want Tanner over Taysom think they know more than the coaches. I think that many of them, myself included, have a view longer than this season. I think that all of the coaches are fully invested in making this season the best it possibly can be. So in their minds Taysom gives the team the best chance to win this season. However, I feel that we are losing valuable opportunities to get ready for the future.

This season is basically over. Independence makes it so that there is not much difference between our win total if we do not get into a major bowl game. I have read post after post about how complicated the offense is and how Tanner just isn't as ready. If that is truly the case, why not give him 1st team reps against other teams' first team defense to figure it out. I would much rather Tanner and some of the receivers who will be key contributors next season treat these last 4-5 games as next season's preseason. Each year it seems we have a decent team who, while showing promise, struggles early and loses some very winnable games. Independence does not allow us to have those type of struggles if we want the team and the program to progress the way other programs have.
