Americans fund most of the medical advancements and new drugs. The best enter medicine because they can be well-off financially. That all goes away under a single payer. And the middle class get lumped with the poor in an awful system where everyone convinces themselves that its a better system because everyone has access to it. You should hear Canadians talk about how long they have to wait to get an MRI or some other specialized test. Ridiculous. Just crazy. If you want that system why don't you move to Canada or the UK, or Europe. You'll find out that nothing is free and the system that treats everyone for "free" is full of long lines, poor care, and death.
