How exactly does the Canadian Health Care System work?
How is it different in practice from the US system?
Not trying to be a smart alek. I don't know what the actual differences are from a parent's point of view. How would my typical experience change under that system?
Under the US system, I get sick, I call a doctor and make an appointment or go to an instacare or ER. They take my insurance info and bill my insurance; then I get billed for whatever the insurance doesn't pay. The amount I pay varies depending on whether or not I have met my deductible. The amount the Dr/facility gets paid depends on the contract they have with my insurer.
