Just yesterday – – the latest in a very long line of events like this – – a colleague was asking me about certain church stuff, my views, etc.
He's not LDS but has lived his whole life in a very LDS area and has connections to the church through family ties, etc. He seemed genuinely bewildered to hear that my thoughts did not conform to his impressions on some things.
I've also been privy to a few conversations while living in the south about "the Mormons" when people couldn't imagine there would be one standing next to them.
I get that this is tangential to the main point Harrison was making, but I agree that there is absolutely a prominent stereotype out there for white Mormon males, or Mormons in general.
