Hartsock improved as a result of ongoing playing time, he should have improved as much as he did anyway.
Honestly, I think that Hartsock should have played more like he did his senior year during his junior year.
When he was in H.S. he scored from all over the court. but didn't really reach that level in college until the end of his jr. year and then in his sr. year.
I don't see how that improvement would be chalked to Pope being a "great" big man coach.

The scholly was most likely down to him or Shaw. Hindsight..... but can see where it was a tough choice at the time.
