which would include the lds church, BYU, many corporations, many countries, as well as the world in general. I realize that people want penn state to be a scapegoat since it is an easy scapegoat and it doesn't mean anything to you. It was made scapegoat enough in my opinion. When you discover a cancer you don't go straight for the electric chair and execution. You try to remove or destroy the cancer at its source. In this case the source was Jerry Sandusky and a few individuals that should have done a lot more. Those sources of the cancer are gone. It should be checked for cancer again and remove any further sources of cancer...but as far as we know the cancer is gone. I believe that all men will be punished for their own sins...I don't think that blaming everyone for a few peoples sins gets us anywhere. Punishing or judging kids or fans or coaches that had nothing to do with Sandusky doesn't make any sense. Saying that everyone with any connection to penn state enabled Sandusky because they were all about football makes many of us enablers too...because we watched BYU play Penn State. We complimented Paterno. Lavell complimented Paterno. We paid for tickets we watched the commercials. Oh we don't have anything to do with it because we didn't know what was going on? Well that's true of most of the people at Penn State. At some point there are specific people that were responsible and as long as they are held responsible that's all that matters to me.

If people want to continue to hold down the legacy of Joe Paterno that's fine by me. That case can be made that he destroyed everything he accomplished by not doing enough to protect kids.

But people that want to hold down Penn State as an institution moving forward because of what those guys did...that I'm not ok with. Penn State is capable of a lot of good and shouldn't be destroyed by the actions of these guys. I look at people that continue to root down penn state and call for its death penalty like people in Salem in the 1600s calling for execution of witches. Its a hateful hysteria that I think some people still have. These people still there weren't and aren't at fault for what happened. Punishing the wrong people accomplishes nothing.
