Yes. Still. In a force on force conventional war, all Air Force assets are very vulnerable.
A tank division has ADA assets, air assets, can operate in poor weather thereby nullifying most air assets, can repel a chemical attack, is so fast that the ground force doesn't know what hit them, is much more cost efficient, and has the most lethal asset on the battlefield-the M1.

But hey, give me the Air Force in phase I, knocking out main defenses any day. Best in the world at what they do, and it's not close.

73 Easting is a great example. Tanks and Bradleys moving from Saudi to Iraq. Sand storm comes, erasing any air asset viability. Tanks went front and destroyed over 100 tanks and armored vehicles. You're talking about a US scout troop destroying an entire division.
