Hermanson from SMC. Seriously, I think if Hartsock had a little more time to improve his shot and get comfortable with the college game, he could have been a good stretch 4.
Neilson also showed some promise. Not sure why Nate Austin stopped shooting after his freshman year, he had a nice natural stroke and range out to the arc. It look like he was instructed by the coaching staff to stop shooting, which would be a shame, but I could be wrong.
It seems as though for the last couple of years, Rose and staff have become overly enamored with the combo guard. The problem is that borderline athletic combo guards can be a liability on D, on the boards, and in getting shots off over taller defenders.
Rose used to utilize the stretch 4 more than he does currently, and I think it would be great to bring it back. The key though is that you need good ball movement to get your stretch 4 good looks in rhythm.
