As a 7th grade teacher I never assign homework except for projects. At the high
school level my kids were on a block schedule of A/B days with 90 minute classes. They always told me the teacher would teach the first part of class and give them the last half to do whatever work had been assigned. If they didn't get done it was homework. They almost always got it done and rarely had any homework in high school.
