...there were some bad routes being run at times, and some bad drops, and some balls that should have been fought for better.... but far and away the problem was not being able to read the defense (then not knowing which receivers were going to be open), not throwing the pass on time (waiting until the receiver broke open, staring him down, then throwing it), and then just throwing a terrible pass... this is what killed our passing offense last year.
As frustrating as the open downfield receivers never seen and the errant passes were, it killed me to see the open running backs leaking out of the backfield (Jamaal in particular) that Taysom stubbornly refused to throw to and just keep the ball himself. It was CRAZY. He had backs outside the tackles, past the line of scrimmage, in the open field, and he would not hit them. Unbelievable.
