athletics. My fear is your speaking abt men's basketball & football and in that sense, you are partially correct. However, there are 351 Division 1 athletic programs. This means BYU's program to be average sits 117-240 in rankings. BYU is consistently in the top fifty of the Lear Director's Cup rankings and last year was #24.
Football and basketball (MW) are middle of the pack in the Big 12. As per the data below we are a top tier program overall. I hope this changes your opinion. Thanks for your imput.
