If true I say good for Pope. He improved each team on the way up. UK knows they
can lose coaches so being a blue-blood isn't by itself enough to keep Pope if he proves good which I think he will. Pope knows the expectations will continue to grow and it's certain he has a plan. His continued success makes us look better.

BYU and it's fans are finally growing out of the expectation that excellent coaches and players won't be lifers for low compensation and average programs. Everyone must contribute including fans with low singly but large collectively contributions. We've foolishly squandered decades and opportunities to elevate BYU to blue blood status. There might not be time to lift the program past the cutoff for the next realignment but if there is, we've just gotten some of the key pieces.

Thank you Pope, for coming in at the right time then leaving at the right time. You were one of the few with your developed skills at the right time to help.
