BYU was 12th in BCS rankings before the Hawaii game

The BCS had concluded by that point that it would rather have had LSU, Tennessee, Florida or Nebraska for the remaining 3 at large BCS bowl births. Basically it was letting BYU fans know that they should start planning for a trip to Memphis if they wanted to see BYU's bowl game.
