Unless ESPN has an ulterior motive & agenda of their own...
...for rocking the boat of the BCS system.
Be that as it may, look back to last basketball season. ESPN pimped BYU basketball the last half of hte season non-stop and made Jimmer a nightly feature. They didn't seem to be too worried about ticking off bigger programs from BCS conferences that they had TV deals with and they didn't even have a tV deal with BYU basketball in place yet.
ESPN is a lot bigger than any BCS conference. They control the purse strings and I doubt would get too worked up if a nose got bent out of shape. Especially now that ESPN controls all the post-season Bowl TV contracts including all of the BCS bowls until 2014.
