Only because there have been reports that President Samuelson has been given the green light to make a decision if such realignment is offered. In several articles I have read this week they have said it is believed that He has been given authority to make the move if it is in the best interest of BYU.
"the BYU Board of Trustees has indeed authorized President Samuelson to negotiate and make the move from a directors standpoint"
this is an exact quote for one of the articles.
Why would they give him authorization to act, but tell him it is not the direction they should go?
