The example I used was USU went decades without being relevant, and now 2 of the last 6 seasons finished top 25, while being Indy has resulted in 0 top 25 finishes for us. Your stat strengthens this point, and add Boise who wasn’t even D1 going back that far, it’s more evidenced that G5 conference affiliation isn’t the dead end so many claim it to be. It just helps a lot of our fans feel better about the situation the program is still in to think it’s better to be Indy than G5. I just don’t happen to agree with that, especially when the argument is relevance in today’s football.
