I see playing relevant P5 games as the litmus test. Moving to G5 means
you have fewer opportunities to play relevant games.
BYU will have only these games of relevance, Utah, Tenn, USC and UW, with Boise and USU getting credit depending how their seasons progress.
If they were in conference you wouldn't have six relevant games.

I don't think he was declining. There was a natural adjustment to our W-L record due to increased P5 scheduling
