While we may disagree with the causes behind the decline, what you are failing to acknowledge was that his decline was no where near the decline we are seeing with Kalani.

Even if you look only at "declining" independence, Bronco averaged a finish of 39. Kalani is AVERAGING a finish in the 70s and already has 2 seasons with worse finishes than any time in Bronco's era.

How are you measuring he "decline" of Bronco's teams? Whatever criteria you are using (wins, records, win %, wins vs. rivals, average finish) you must also agree the decline has gotten exponentially worse under Kalani.

A "declining" 8-9 win, top 40 finish is miles better than where current state BYU football has been.

If your "decline" is still averaging as good as BYU has been for over 45 years inclduding a HOF coach you are doing pretty good. It wouldn't make sense to fire LaVell in the late 80's or early 90's for not reproducing an elite season again. Things ebb and flow and 1996 14-1 came admist more average-good results. Things aren't always so binary as you want them to be. 2016 was prime for a top 25 finish and believe it would've happened if he stayed. We certainly wouldn't have gone 4-9 in 2017.

At some point shouldn't the current head coach be accountable for his own results? Or are you going to blame Bronco for everything bad that happens even when it's far worse than it ever was when he was in charge.
