If people choose to ignore it, fine. But for those ignoring it without under-

standing why it offends also shows social insensitivity.

Being the parent of a child with disabilities is a demanding challenge. For people to be insensitive is unkind and we should speak up to avoid using terms that can hurt or bruise our friends and neighbors.
