You assume donations from boosters will stay the same. Why? If necessary to

compete, certain schools will just get more $$ from the same boosters who today pony up to pay coaches salaries but tomorrow will pony up to pay players.

Heck, in the SEC it won't even be a significant change from how things are done now. It will just be open.
