I struggle to distinguish this from leagues with salary caps and max contracts
If the NBA can place a limit not just on individual compensation (max contracts) but on aggregate team compensation without violating antitrust law, how can the NCAA not do the same?

Moreover, how can these practices be anticompetitive and illegal at the NCAA level, but be sanctioned at the conference level (as Kavanaugh's concurrence suggests)?

I'll need to dig into this and read the decision myself, but the logic here is not intuitive.
