They know that each year we’ll have a discussion about what ELSE they will need to start paying for.
If the topic of who’s paying for something comes up, all I have to say is, “Between the ages…” and I get a good-natured eye roll and/or sigh, and a serious but cordial financial discussion ensues. It’s been great and all my kids are fiscally responsible, and no student loan debt that I’m aware of.
