To attending BYU. So they can choose to go to BYU or BYUI and we will pay for them for four years. (No graduate school and no living expenses after their first year)
If they chose to attend a different university, we give them the BYu tuition rate and they are responsible for the rest (own earned money or student loans).
This encourages them to go to a church school and be in one of those environments. We live in NC and we believe being around a large # of LDS YAs is worth it. So far, 1 attended BYU and two currently attending BYUI.
As for the costs - we have the means to help them get their 4-year degree. If we didn’t, then we would have them pay for themselves.
My wife and I want our children to graduate with a 4-year degree without the burden of student loans.
As for missions, we pay for them - we are just excited that they are serving and doing the Lord’s work. We get so many blessings from their service.
So far (3rd serving mission right now in Mexico) - no entitlement issues from any of the three. They show a lot of gratitude.
