When the AAC added Tulane & Tulsa they lost the ability to be a "best of" league
Had they held off and built with programs that actually have support (ECU, Southern Miss, etc.) and then held tight for a Western expansion, they'd be in a much better spot. But they were so concerned with getting their championship game ASAP that they lost the opportunity to really become a "best of" conference.
