What would have to happen for BYU to make the CFP?
Is it any more unlikely to happen in as G5 or as an Independent?
Since we are dreaming....
Would BYU make the CFP if they beat 3 P5 teams plus 2-3 ranked opponents in conference (Houston, UCF, Memphis, etc)?
Would BYU make the CFP if they went undefeated against our current schedule?
Would the committee put an undefeated BYU in over an 1 loss team from any P5 conference or Notre Dame in either scenario? Do you honestly believe an undefeated BYU would have earned a spot over a 2 loss Georgia? Does upsetting Tennessee mean we are on par with Alabama?
I'm not convinced that a national championship is a realistic goal for BYU in today's environment. It would take an incredible series of events for the stars to align.
