It happens over and over. High school QB prospect has received extra coaching form QB gurus and comes into his college career super polished. He thrives his freshman year when things are dumbed down and they defenses haven't adjusted. Fans and former players alike anoint this young QB as the next great thing.
The dark side is that QB might already at or near their potential when they graduated high school. When more is required and the defenses adjust you start to see the cracks.
Jake Heaps? Tanner Mangum?
Then there's the opposite side of the coin. Overlooked high school QB that somehow manages to land a roster spot. This kid may not have received the coaching attention in high school and has a lot of room to grow and blossom in college. No one really can guess at the potential at this point but when the kid winds up on the field good things sometimes happen.
Romney is possibly this type. Christian Stewart was definitely this type.
Possibly the dumbest thing in this debate is the tendency for most of you to leave Jaren Hall out of it.
