Nobody denies the potential, but so far he has been largely underwhelming.
Outside of pounding Western Michigan, he has been mostly abysmal in bowl games, close games, and rivalries, plus often in the red zone. He does have good mobility, usually good pocket vision to avoid sacks, and a potentially strong arm, but his decision making in the last few minutes of close games is especially bad. Pick sixes absolutely put the Utah games out of reach, while throwing it away on third and two with a small lead was idiotic, late pics against Hawai'i and Northern Illinois sealed those games, and I still haven't figured out how BYU lost the Boise State game two years ago.
