Nevada is a community property state. One-half of the community property/assets belong to the surviving spouse. Combine
that with potential issues of commingling of funds/assets the spouses held before the marriage & you have a cluster mess.

Pretty much every state has that. Called an elective share typically. You can't disinherit a spouse, absent a Prenup.
