This isn't a one game blip. I'd say Utah hasn't been the same since the 2019 Oregon P12 Championship game. It's like that game, Finebaum's "No one wants Utah" comments, then the Texas game absolutely took the air out of the balloon at Utah. Since that game, Utah has been pretty average or below average. You're back to not knowing how to play quarterback, except now you don't have a dominant RB in your system (RIP Jordan, that kid was going to be good). I don't remember Utah having terrible receivers, but this 2021 team has bad WRs. Utah always had solid kicking, not anymore.
In 2020, BYU was on track to have a really good team (see NFL players from that team). Then Zach Wilson at #2, the Big 12, and ending the streak and you can see the differences in the two programs. I'd say 2020 was a turning point for BYU and the end of 2019 was a turning point for Utah.
