It's not solely about the head-to-head matchup. Ute fans have been holding their
conference affiliation over our heads and looking down their noses at us because we weren't in a P5 conference. Hence, the PAC12 stickers - those were never about the PAC12. They were about Utah being in a P5 conference and BYU not being in one. Utah had "moved up" and no longer should even be considered the equal of BYU. BYU was to be left behind, along with the other "also-rans" of the college football landscape. The Utes didn't even want to be our rivals anymore (ok, no one ever believed that). The BIG XII announcement changes all that. So that alone shifted things. And then we got the W on Saturday and we all knew, WE ALL KNEW (Utes and Cougs) that the power imbalance had evaporated. It's a different world now.
