I guess I'm old because this is all eerily familiar. Back in 1988 when Utah
snapped BYU's 9 game win streak all of the BYU fans were saying it was 'tithing' and indicated nothing.
And to be sure BYU won the next four years, but the difference was the HS players in Utah had now seen Utah beat BYU and knew it was possible and when McBride showed up he started attracting better local talent to the U which led to more parity in the rivalry for the next 20 years.
So, I'm agreeing that this is probably more than just a one time thing, especially with BYU joining the B12 and the likely upcoming retirement of Whittingham.
