Top 10 benefits to Big12 move:
1. ~10mil TV money as indy, estimated 24.5mil in reworked BIG12.
2. More money means we can pay competitive salaries and retain coaches, increasing our stability.
3. More money means competitive facilities, gear, perks, etc. We were beginning to fall behind as an Indy.
4. Being P5 means huge bowl payout difference. For example, average team payout in BIG12 was 11.2mil. AAC was 2mil.
5. Access to NY6 and playoff games. Our champion will be included regardless of record. Lose all non-conference games but win in conference and we’ll still be NY6. As an indy we’re out after our first loss.
6. Recruits recognize P5 status. Players on the fence will be easier to bring in.
7. A better TV time slot with more eyeballs on us as we’ll player earlier in the day now for half of our games.
8. We have more leverage with our conference partners at our side on all fronts effecting college sports.
9. More respect/votes in rankings with an official P5 schedule and our conference partners benefit by voting for us because it elevates their schedule appearance.
