Had KD come back healthy in late March

OKC would have made the playoffs and had a legit chance to win it all. 16 teams gives teams a margin for injury or error during the regular season and still make the playoffs with a chance to win it all.

Also, cutting to 8 teams would be too few. Byes wouldn't work with basketball because the time off would be too long with a 7 game series. 16 teams is the right number.
