While I agree that it'd be subjective, I think that conferences championships
are a stupid criteria.
You mean to tell me that you think that beating all the teams in your region indicates that you're the best team in the country? If so, the ACC, PAC12, and B12 have easier routes to the playoff than the SEC and B1G. In many (most?) years, a couple (or more) of the best teams in the country are located in the same conference.
This is why the CFP is worse than the BCS. There's less transparency and more bias than ever.
