to end all debate. Sixteen is that number. An autobid for all conference champs and the remainder all at-large. That way, you can have Michigan and OSU which people think are better and there is no debate that someone got left out. Western Michigan is undefeated. I don't think they would compete with, say, Alabama, but why not let them go play a road game against one of these teams so they have a chance to prove themselves against better competition. So many times, there has been an undefeated G-5 team that would be a much better candidate than WMU and they end the season undefeated and ranked in the top 5. That's just stupid. Nobody outside of the P5 should be advocating for a P5 only system because it just keeps feeding the notion the beast.

The problem is the stupid idea of making every playoff game a bowl game. Just seed it 1-16 and make the championship a bowl game. It would generate loads more revenue than the stupid system they have now.
