And the pilot couldn't get clearance to land at Ft Lauderdale. This was an about 20-seat prop jet with single seats on each side of the aisle and three seats across the back row, where I happened to be sitting. The plane was jumping and jerking all over the place, and it was like being on a very tall roller coaster for over an hour. There were maybe 4 or 5 people that weren't using their barf bags. People were screaming and crying.
Eventually, the pilot gave up on Ft Lauderdale and returned to the Bahamas. We landed and disembarked, and they told us they would try again in an hour or two. About a third of the passengers said no thanks, and decided to wait until the next day.
