Another update on this situation.

On Monday I start my paternity leave from my current company and have my first day of work at my new company. My current company doesn’t know I’m leaving. After two weeks at my new job I will take one day of PTO to fly back and quit my current job without giving notice.

Before I quit I will have been out of the office for almost three and a half weeks due to work travel, PTO, and paternity leave. This allowed me to offload all my projects to my team, which makes me feel better about quitting with no notice.

Also, I am only taking two weeks of parental leave as my company’s new policy of six weeks didn’t go into effect in time.
